Sarfira is a Hindi remake of Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru, released in 2020. Inspired by the life of GR Gopinath, the founder of the Indian low-cost airline Simplifly Deccan, the original film was directed by Sudha Kongara who also helmed the Hindi version. Produced by Suriya and Guneet Monga, the Tamil film starred Suriya, Aparna Balamurali, and Paresh Rawal, with Mohan Babu, Urvashi and Karunas playing the supporting roles.
As for the Hindi remake, Radhikka Madan has also joined Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar for an engaging plot. Radhikka underwent a stunning transformation into a traditional Marathi girl for her role as ‘Rani’ in the film.
Actor Suriya is grateful that Akshay Kumar chose Sarfira as his 150th film. In a post on X, the Tamil superstar wrote, “Sarfira will always be an important film for all of us! Akshay Kumar Sir thank you for choosing Sarfira as your 150th film. You’ve made Veer come alive so beautifully.”
Acknowledging director Sudha Kongra’s dedication while directing the film, he added, “Sudha Kongara, you’ve lived this dream for so many years, happy our film is in theatres now. Radhikka Madan is superb as Rani. Paresh Rawal is just brilliant. Thank you, we now have beautiful lifetime memories! Jyotika had Akshay sir’s poster as a teenager & now she’s a proud producer.”
