Actor Vijay, one of the biggest names in the South, is set to start his political career after he announced his party in February. The news came as a big shock to the film industry since the superstar also plans to leave the cinema world after a few releases. Vijay’s close friend actor Sanjeev Venkat asked him about his decision, and this is what he had to say.
Earlier in February, Thalapathy Vijay announced his plans to become a full-time politician through his party, Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam. The actor plans to retire from the world of cinema, after the release of his 69th release, tentatively called Thalapathy 69. As per the reports, Vijay’s TVK is aiming for the 2026 Lok Sabha elections.
Vijay’s news of their eventual departure has shocked the fans as well as his contemporaries. One of Vijay’s closest friends, actor Sanjeev Venkat was asked about his opinion on the actor’s decision to leave. He simply stated, “I asked Vijay about it, to which Vijay replied, do you have a question? So, he said in one sentence that it was true.”
In his February statement, Vijay said, “Upon the approval of the election ordinance, our party’s policies, manifestos, strategies, and programs will be unveiled, and our political journey for the people of Tamil Nadu will commence.”
Vijay is currently busy with the shoot of his upcoming, GOAT, also called The Greatest Of All Time. It is being directed by Venkat Prabhu; also credited as its writer. The cast includes Vijay, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila and many others. The producers of the film are Kalpathi S Aghoram, Kalpathi S Ganesh and Kalpathi S Suresh, under the banner of AGS Entertainment. For music, the makers have roped in Yuvan Shankar Raja while Siddhartha Nuni is doing the cinematography and the editor is Venkat Raajen. The film is expected to have its theatrical release on September 5. As per more reports, it is being made under a budget of Rs 300 crore.
