Anirudh has composed the music for Indian 2.
Bribery has been portrayed as the core issue in the film. Fans have as usual loved Kamal Haasan’s action avatar.
One of the highly anticipated films, Indian 2, was released in theatres worldwide on July 12. It is written and directed by S Shankar. Kamal Haasan reprises his role as Senapathy, an ageing freedom fighter turned vigilante who fights against corruption. Apart from Kamal Haasan, actors Siddharth, SJ Suryah, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, Vivek and Gulshan Grover are seen in prominent roles. The film centres around the return of Kamal Haasan from abroad to aid Chitra Aravindhan and his team, who have been exposing corrupt politicians in the country through videos on the internet. After the release of the film and surfing through the reviews from the audience, it is fair to say that the film has failed to fulfil the viewers’ expectations.
In the first part of Indian, director Shankar took the story of officials and politicians who act against the people by taking bribes and killing an Indian grandfather as the central theme. This time Shankar tried to frame the grandfather as the main villain in the eyes of the common people who trusted him for justice. As per the reviews, the film has missed the mark and is a bit sluggish till the interval. Like Kalki 2898 AD, the film picks up pace after the interval. Bribery has been portrayed as the core issue in the film. Fans have as usual loved Kamal Haasan’s action avatar. Anirudh’s music helps in peaking the emotions in the film.
Another striking feature of the film is its cliffhanger end. Indian 2 ends with the trailer of its sequel, buzzing the viewers with the expectations for its sequel. Even though the film has received mixed reviews, one verdict is quite constant–Indian 2 is not as good as its predecessor. Despite the negative reviews, Shankar and Kamal Haasan’s film has received a decent opening of Rs 25.6 crore.
#Indian2 #Bharateeyudu2 #indian2review Telugu review:It’s just an average to below average movie. There is no story it is just like a set up to Indian3. Yes Indian3 trailer was played after the rolling titles and Indian3 seems pretty interesting and I think Indian3 would be…— Vijay (@vijay827482) July 12, 2024
A sequel to the 1996 film Indian, Indian 2 is one of its biggest projects by Shankar with a reported budget of Rs 150 crores.
