The Overall Rate of Inflation, measured by the Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI) on a year-on-year basis, increased to -1.7% in December 2024.
According to the Department of Census and Statistics, the figure was an increase from the -2.1% reported in November this year.
Similarly, food inflation rose to 0.8% in December compared to the 0.6% recorded in November.
Non-food inflation also rose to -3.0% in December from the -3.3% reported in November 2024.
