Fans suspect that Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli will soon permanently shift to London, away from the limelight.
Anushka Sharma is currently in London with her two kids, Vamika and Akaay. Virat Kohli was also seen jetting off to meet them soon after he returned to India from Barbados. Virat Kohli recently announced his retirement from T20 cricket after Team India lifted the T20 World Cup on June 29. Now, fans suspect that the couple will permanently shift to London to live a ‘normal’ life.
This speculation comes especially because Anushka and Virat have often been spotted in London. In 2023, Virat even took a break from his hectic schedule and spent some time with Anushka in London. A viral photo featured Anushka and Virat outside a restaurant in London. Virat was also seen with Vamika at a restaurant in London, days after Akaay’s birth was announced.
This led to the belief that Akaay was born in London. Anushka Sharma reportedly spent several months of her pregnancy in London, away from the limelight. Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli announced the birth of their son five days after he was born and till then, fans had no clue about Akaay’s birth – which is uncommon if a celebrity goes into labour in Mumbai. Reports also claimed that Virat Kohli missed the India vs England Test series and travelled to England for the birth of his second child.
Anushka Sharma’s absence from Bollywood events and films also has led to this speculation. Last year, the actress said that she didn’t want to do too many films anymore and spend time with her family instead. “I enjoy acting but I don’t want to do too many films as much as I was doing earlier. I want to do one film a year, enjoy the process of acting which is what I like and balance my life out like the way I am, give time to family,” she said.
Virat Kohli has often expressed that he loves spending time with his family in London where they are not recognised. “We were not in the country. Just to feel normal for two months – for me, my family – it was a surreal experience. Couldn’t have been more grateful to God for the opportunity to spend time with the family. It’s an amazing experience to just be another person on the road and not be recognised,” Virat Kohli said in March this year.
The cricketer also famously said in May, “Once I’m done, I’ll be gone. You won’t see me for a while, so I wanna give everything I have till the time I play, and that’s the only thing that keeps me going.”
As per a Hindustan Times report, Anushka and Virat are also directors of a UK-based company. The report mentions that as per the UK government’s Find and Update company information service, the couple are two of the three directors of Magik Lamp. It is a management consultancy incorporated on August 1, 2022. The company’s official office address is in West Yorkshire, UK.
