Aubrey Plaza’s character in Agatha All Along’s teaser confirms Wanda Maximoff’s death, but it has also sparked hope among fans that she could make a comeback.
Even though Scarlet Witch met her tragic end in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, there’s a chance she might return, as hinted on Agatha All Along’s first teaser. Wanda Maximoff’s storyline concluded when she destroyed the Darkhold Castle and ended all her versions. Since then, there’s been no mention of her, but the new teaser of Kathryn Hahn’s show offers a new twist. The footage shows Wanda trapped in the realm and her story isn’t entirely over. Aubrey Plaza’s character confirms her death, but it has also sparked hope among fans that Scarlet Witch could make a comeback and audiences will get a solo movie, featuring Elizabeth Olsen.
According to Screenrant, Agatha’s teaser includes a scene where Wanda’s name appears in red ink on a card. This detail, along with the black fingertips on the corpse strongly suggests that Wanda might make a surprise appearance. In the same scene, Plaza’s character, Rio Vidal urges Agatha to break free from Wanda’s spell. It is also revealed that Agatha plans to follow the Witch’s Road to regain the powers she lost in the previous series.
Another theory suggests that Scarlet Witch might have faked her own death and escaped to the Witch’s Road. Meanwhile, fans also think Elizabeth Olsen might return because the show introduced Wanda’s son, Billy Maximoff. Though the synopsis refers to him as a mysterious teenager who helps Kathryn Hahn’s character regain her powers. There’s speculation that the series might include a scene where Agatha attempts to revive Scarlet Witch, believing that bringing Wanda back is the only way to restore her own full powers. While these are just wild theories, everything will be uncovered once the show premieres in September.
Meanwhile, Marvel is notorious for keeping fans on edge by revealing very little in their trailers. This secrecy has made it challenging for actor Joe Locke to keep details about his role in the upcoming series under wraps.
The young star said, “It’s been so hard. Like I want to talk about it and there’s so many cool things about the show that I always want to tell people. It’s been like a long time since we shot. I mean I’m glad it’s coming out now because I’m not sure I could have kept them for much longer. Just a little bit longer to hang. Just holding on and then I can tell everything.”
Other than Kathryn Hahn, Joe Locke and Aubrey Plaza, Agatha All Along also stars Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn and Maria Dizzia in key roles. The first two episodes are scheduled to release on September 18.
