Nana Patekar Shares How He Fulfilled His Dream Of Joining The Army With This 1991 Film

Nana Patekar is one of the most prominent actors in the film industry. The actor has always been celebrated for his intense and memorable roles. He is known for his several films like Krantiveer, Prahaar, Ab Tak Chhappan, Welcome, Khamoshi and Natasamrat.

Patekar, in an interview with The Lalllantop, once again recalled the earlier days of his film Prahaar. The film was released in the theatres in 1991. He was featured in the film as Major Pratap Chauhan. At the age of forty, Nana Patekar underwent military training for this film. He had undergone intense training with the Maratha Light Infantry for about three years. He also said that many youths joined the army and police department after watching the film.

Nana Patekar-starrer Prahaar is an inspiration to many. This film was released in 1991 and many people liked it. Apart from that, they also joined the army and police department. The film is based on the Indian Army. The veteran actor wanted to become an Army personnel but he couldn’t. He said that he fulfilled that dream by acting in this film. He recalled the scenes and dialogues of the film during the interview. He also said that the film was an example of the hard work of every member.

The actor also shared his experience while travelling between different locations for over 60 days during the Kargil War. He also lost twenty kg in two months. “Eventually I was a member of the Quick Reaction Team. It is one of the most elite forces. I don’t talk about it because I don’t feel the need to. It was a fulfilling experience for me. Itna sa toh kuch hum kar sakte hai desh ke liye (At least we can do this for the country),” he added.

On the work front, Nana last appeared in Vivek Agnihotri’s thought-provoking drama The Vaccine War last year. He was also a part of the Marathi road-drama film Ole Aale this year.
