President Anura Kumara Dissanayake announced that an allowance would be introduced for schoolchildren struggling to afford school books and educational equipment as the new school term begins in January 2025.
Speaking at a public rally in Kegalle, the President highlighted the government’s commitment to ensuring that all children have access to essential educational materials, aiming to ease financial burdens on families as they prepare for the upcoming academic year.
