Dipika has expressed her gratitude towards both her mother and mother-in-law for their support in raising Ruhaan.

Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim keep their fans entertained with daily vlogs, sharing intimate glimpses into their lives as new parents to their baby boy, Ruhaan. Recently, one of their vlogs featured Shoaib’s mother praising Dipika for her dedication as a mother and her ability to manage both Ruhaan and the household so well. In a heartfelt response, Dipika expressed her gratitude towards both her mother and mother-in-law for their invaluable support in raising Ruhaan.

In their latest vlog, Shoaib and Dipika spoke about the challenges they faced after Ruhaan was born and how their mothers helped them in the parenting journey. Dipika said, “I am a mother of this generation. There were certain ways I wanted to do things with Ruhaan. In this, my mother-in-law never pressured me, saying, ‘This is how we’ve always done it, so you should do the same,’ which happens in many homes. It’s a challenge for a lot of mothers to convince others that they don’t want to follow traditional methods. We only had to explain things to Ammi once.”

Dipika further added, “Yes, Ammi and even my mother would say, ‘We used to do it this way,’ but the difference was just in the approach and the willingness to accept new methods. When there’s that understanding, the journey of parenthood becomes easier.”

Dipika concluded by saying, “For example, I decided not to give Ruhaan sugar, salt, or even water initially. So, Ammi asked me why I was not giving him water. I never gave him a massage with oil, but she understood when I explained to her why I chose not to do so. She never complained. So, I am grateful that she understood me.”

Shoaib Ibrahim agreed with Dipika and shared that, in the past, mothers often gave their children lentil water to drink, but nowadays, doctors advise against such practices. He emphasised that times have changed and their family has been very understanding and supportive of these modern recommendations.

Dipika also thanked her mother for always being there, saying that her mother was her biggest support system during her pregnancy. She appreciated her mother for taking such good care of Ruhaan and being there for him and for accepting the change just like her mother-in-law.
