Deadpool & Wolverine latest teaser’s biggest surprise is the return of Tyler Mane.
The latest teaser of Deadpool & Wolverine is leaving fans buzzing with excitement as it features thrilling throwbacks from X-Men movies. The film has already introduced Cassandra Nova, Charles Xavier’s twin sister, played by Emma Corrin. Now, the latest teaser’s biggest surprise is the return of Tyler Mane, who will reprise his role as Sabretooth, a character he originally played in the 2000 X-Men film. While previous trailers focused more on the film’s main stars, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, and their new villain, this recent one teases a clash of decade between Wolverine and Sabretooth. It ends just as the long awaited fight is about to begin, leaving viewers eager for the full showdown, which is only possible on July 26.
The teaser continues to feature familiar scenes from previous clips, but it concludes with a major surprise. After Wolverine takes down several opponents, he asks, “Who’s next?” Just then, Victor Creed aka Sabretooth makes an appearance saying, “Ready to die.” As the two prepare for their epic battle, Wade Wilson intervenes with a humorous pep talk for Logan saying, “Wait, you look ridiculous, people have waited decades for this fight. It’s not going to be easy. You shoot the double, you take them, down side control then full mount and you ground and pound till he makes no sound because he’s dead.”
Tyler Mane first brought Sabretooth to life in the original X-Men movie and set a high bar for the character. However, he was later replaced by Liev Schreiber in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. While Mane’s Sabretooth was shown as Logan’s enemy, Schreiber’s version took a different angle, as he was portrayed as Wolverine’s half-brother.
Other than Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Tyler Mane and Emma Corrin, Deadpool & Wolverine will also feature Matthew Macfadyen as Paradox, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Stefan Kapicic as Colossus, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Rob Delaney as Peter and Lewis Tan as Shatterstar.
Aaron Stanford is returning as Pyro from the X-Men film series, Kelly Hu’s Lady Deathstrike, Jason Flemyng’s Azazel, Ray Park’s Toad, while Jennifer Garner is rumoured to return as Elektra, along with several Avengers stars.
Deadpool & Wolverine is scheduled to release on July 26.
