Kalki 2898 AD: Rejected Kamal Haasan’s look goes viral.
Kamal Haasan’s rejected looks from Kalki 2989 AD are going viral. Check it out here.
Kamal Haasan looked menacing in Kalki 2898 AD. The actor, who played the role of Supreme Yaskin in the Nag Ashwin film, had two distinctive looks in the film. The first look, which was seen in most parts of the film, included a starved man who was connected to machines that doubled up as life supports. The second one, seen in the mid-credits scene, was a beefed up version of the character.
As shown in the film, Yaskin beefs up after getting a drop of formula extracted from the unborn child that Sum-80 (Deepika Padukone) is carrying. While the second look is menacing, it has been revaeled that the look wasn’t the only look discussed during the making of the film. An art work is now going viral claiming that Nag Ashwin almost featured a different Yaskin in the film.
The rejected look featured a lot more elements as compared to the final look that featured in Kalki 2898 AD. The rejected look featured a halo like installation at the back of Kamal’s head. His neck also featured a metallic gear. The look featured a lot more elements that made the character’s appearance a little bit chunky and tacky.

“I thought I’m going to play the bad man so it’s going to be fun. But then, he (Ashwin) wanted it to be different. I’m almost like a sage in the film with a bad idea. We had a lot to talk about (the look), and also not look like something else that I had done already or somebody else has done already,” Kamal said at the press conference ahead of the film’s release.
“I was like, ‘I’ll do research’, and I got to know that, ‘Amit ji is doing it (the film)’. Then I thought, I’ll come with armour, I was told, ‘Prabhas has got that’. I didn’t want to be pregnant in the film (referring to Padukone’s character Sumathi), otherwise I would’ve tried that as well,” Kamal joked.
