‘Keanu As Lakshya, Andrew Scott As Raghav’: Abhishek Shares Dream Cast For ‘Kill’ Remake | Exclusive

Kill was released in India on July 5.

Kill was released in India on July 5.

Abhishek Chauhan shares his dream cast for Kill remake. It was previously revealed that Kill will be remade in Hollywood.

Before Karan Johar and Guneet Monga’s Kill was even released in India, the makers of John Wick — Lionsgate and 87Eleven Entertainment — announced their plans to remake the film in Hollywood. Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, Kill follows Indian Army commando Amrit (Lakshya) as he fights to save his love, Tulika (Tanya Maniktala), from the ‘psychotic’ Fani (Raghav Juyal) on a New Delhi-bound train.

The announcement has fans eager to see who will play Lakshya and Raghav’s characters in the English remake. In an exclusive conversation with News18 Showsha, Abhishek Chauhan, who plays an NSG commando in Kill, revealed his ideal cast. “For Fani’s part (played by Raghav), I definitely want to watch Andrew Scott. He’s one of the actors I really like watching,” he said.

Abhishek added, “Keanu Reeves is great in John Wick. He would still kick ass for Lakshya’s part. How you’re going to age him down will be challenging, but he’s relentless when it comes to action. For the contemporaries, maybe  someone who has done a lot of action… maybe Robert Pattinson for the part that I play.”

Highlighting the significance of the English remake announcement, Abhishek said, “It’s a very huge thing. It’s not just anybody who’s making the film, it’s Lionsgate and 87Eleven, the makers of John Wick. That is a huge deal. I love that franchise so for them to remake something we’ve all been a part of is something is nothing less than historical. I will always cherish this. It’s hard work getting paid off.”

Recalling how Karan Johar was inspired by the John Wick franchise and wanted to do something similar in the action genre, the actor said, “It’s a full circle moment. How you get inspired by something and then you make something. Eventually, people who were inspired by are going to remake your movie. It’s great.”

Kill first premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival’s Midnight Madness section and later appeared at the Tribeca Film Festival. The film was released in India on July 5 and is performing well at the box office. According to Deadline, Chad Stahelski, Jason Spitz, and Alex Young of 87Eleven Entertainment will lead the remake, attracted by the original film’s intense action sequences and compelling narrative.

Meanwhile, News18 gave the film 4 stars. The review read, “A week after an innovative take on mythology was delivered in the form of Kalki 2898 AD, director Nikhil Nagesh Bhat delivers a refreshing take on Indian action films with Kill. If you love hardcore action films, Kill is a treat to watch. The film is not for the weak-hearted and is bound to leave you sick in the tummy if you can’t handle too much gore. Watch the film for it.”
