The Liver Doc Takes a Dig at Samantha Ruth Prabhu Amid Alternative Medicine Row: ‘We Are Like This…’

Samantha Ruth Prabhu was under fire for her alternative medicine post.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu was under fire for her alternative medicine post.

After apologising to Samantha Ruth Prabhu for his harsh call out, The Liver Doc took a fresh jibe at her.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s recent post about alternative medicine has not gone down well with many. Dr Cyriac Abby Philips aka “The Liver Doc” had slammed Samantha for the post. While Samantha acknowledged his criticism, she said he could have been kind about it. While ‘The Liver Doc’ apologised for his harshness, he took a fresh dig at the actress on X on Monday.

He dug out one of her posts from three years ago, in which she questioned the need to get opinions on important matters. She had captioned the post, “We’re entertainers, Not fact-checkers.” Sharing a screenshot of the same, ‘The Liver Doc’ said, “We are like this only. Sigh. Anyway. ‘I’m not lost for I know where I am. But however, where I am may be lost.’ — Winnie the Pooh.”

‘The Liver Doc’ also seemingly backtracked on his apology he issued over the weekend. Sharing the screenshot of a headline of a report of his statement, he wrote, “Misrepresentation and misinterpretation. Terrible times.”

For the unversed, on Friday, “The Liver Doc” slammed the actress and called her a “health illiterate”. Samantha also reacted to his criticism in a long post and asked him to be “polite”. The actress questioned The Liver Doc and asked him to be polite. “It would have been kind and compassionate of him had he not being so proactive with his words. Especially the bit where he suggests I should be thrown in prison. Nevermind. I suppose it goes with the territory of being a celebrity. I posted as someone who needs medical treatment and not as a celebrity,” she wrote.

TheLiverDoc addressed her post and apologised to Samantha. He chose to criticise her doctors instead, calling them “businessmen” whose practices have been questioned by health boards. “I understand and empathize with Samantha’s health condition and I wish her the very best. I apologize if she felt uneasy or bad the way the message was conveyed. That was unintentional. My aim was her to leave behind medical misinformation peddling ‘doctors’ who are using her vulnerability, and catering to her anecdotal experiences, for their gain. I sincerely suggest that patients with chronic illnesses, please continue with evidence-based medical practices to remain inside a safety net and sanctuary,” he said.
