The government is to introduce new regulations next year concerning the use of minors below the age of 12 for advertising purposes.
Deputy Minister of Mass Media Dr. Hansaka Wijemuni announced that the use of minors below the age of 12 for advertising purposes will be prohibited from next year.
Addressing Parliament today, he further said that the prohibition will come into effect on 01 January 2025.
Dr. Hansaka Wijemuni added that a Gazette notification is being formulated to be issued in this regard.
