The actor is Emraan Hashmi, who debuted in Bollywood with Footpath in 2003. The Jannat actor is related to the Bhatt family, one of the most influential names in Indian cinema. Filmmakers Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt are his uncles, which makes Alia Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt his cousins. Director Mohit Suri, known for films like Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain, is also his cousin.
As per the information given, he started his career in the entertainment industry as an assistant director in the film Raaz. Then in Footpath, he starred opposite Bipasha Basu, however, the film turned out to be a flop.
He gave his breakthrough performance in the 2004 thriller, Murder, which became a superhit. Directed by Anurag Basu, Emraan Hashmi shared the screen space with Mallika Sherawat in the film, along with Ashmit Patel. The release propelled the actor to overnight fame.

He is set to make his debut in South cinema, with the Telugu film, They Call Him OG. It stars Pawan Kalyan as the lead, along with Priyanka Arul Mohan and Arjun Das. It is a Sujeeth directorial.
