Simon Cowell’s boy band venture–One Direction–bid its last goodbye to the UK’s The X Factor in December 2010. However, the members remained together and the rest is history. Over the years, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik have continued to produce music and make headlines. Fast forward to today, when Tomlinson was seen embracing his grey hair, making us feel ancient. It seems like only yesterday that the group captivated the young hearts of its overwhelming fan base all across the world, eventually rivalling the popularity of any other boy band in history.
The 32-year-old artist embraced his greys while attending the final weekend of June at Somerset, England’s Glastonbury Festival. Tomlinson’s typically shaggy brown hair now has wisps of grey showing through, mainly on the sides. Tomlinson, his sister Lottie, and a few of their friends were there at the festival.
The former member of One Direction gained attention over the weekend after watching England’s Euros match on a TV that was smuggled into the Glastonbury Festival. But a lot of his supporters weren’t as interested in his cunning setup as they were in his new hairstyle.
Social media users expressed their opinions about his grey haircut. One user responded to critics by tweeting, “In this house we love silver fox Louis and no disrespect will be tolerated.”
The social media comment was primarily about how the Directioners weren’t prepared for this.
“I was NOT prepared to see Louis Tomlinson with grey hair !!?!??!?!” one fan wrote on X.
“I know we are all getting older but my teen heart is sobbing.”
While some fans advocated for the singer to “dye” his grey hair, others supported his “normal” and organic ageing process.

In 2022, he posted an Instagram selfie of himself celebrating getting No. 1 on the UK chart.
Tomlinson can be seen in the picture with his fractured arm and grey hair around his ears.
Of course, it makes sense that the singer’s look has evolved somewhat since 1D propelled him to stardom. However, Tomlinson’s new ‘look’ serves as a reminder that the band was established over 15 years ago, and they disbanded about a decade ago.
