On Tuesday, a series of crypto-related posts came up on the official X handle of actress Sydney Sweeney, leaving fans confused.
For Sydney Sweeney, there is no end to her struggle with social media mayhem. Months after fake explicit videos of the Madame Web actress went viral, she has become a victim of another cybercrime incident. On Tuesday, July 2, the actress’ X account came up with a bunch of cryptocurrency-related posts. Even though it has been taken care of for now, screenshots of the tweet are making the rounds on the platform.
In a series of posts, the actress’s account promoted a crypto bearing her name on it. “$sweeney 100mc incoming,” the first tweet read followed by more like “Giving away some $sweeney, RT to enter” and “100MC coming within a few hours.”
According to Cointelegraph, the Solana-based token earned over $10 million in trading volume within just two hours of its launch, further bolstered by the promotional posts on her verified account. The report further states that the token was linked to a Telegram channel that later took credit for the hack. They also claimed to be behind similar hacks on rapper 50 Cent and former pro wrestler Hulk Hogan.
The actress is yet to comment directly on the incident. Notably, this is not the first time that the actress has gone through such a mishap. Earlier in January, the Euphoria star’s X handle was hacked by another crypto-scammer. The hackers promoted another Solana-based token named MILJ, which presently has a market cap of $1 million. The post left her fans in a state of shock, owing to an explicit picture that was shared on her social media handle.
