In a shocking revelation, well-known Malayalam filmmaker Kaja Hussain has been arrested for allegedly defrauding a meat trader of Rs 67.5 lakhs by making false promises about a role in a film. This incident has shaken the community, highlighting the harsh reality that even those in the artistic realm can exploit vulnerable individuals.

Muhammad Sharif, a native of Akthethara, filed the complaint that led to Hussain’s arrest. According to Sharif, the filmmaker promised him a role in the film “Kallanmaarude Veedu” and assured him a production partnership if he paid Rs 2 lakhs upfront. Trusting these promises, Sharif handed over the money, only to be continuously disappointed and ignored by Hussain when he sought to get his money back.

The meat trader complained to the police after continuously asking the fraud to return his money and asked them to stop bothering him. The arrest was done after the court rejected Kaja Hussain’s bail and he was produced in Palakkad court. Kaja Hussain surrendered to the police after his bail application was rejected.

Earlier, the filmmaker alleged the actor, Biju Kuttan refused to participate in the promotional events of the film despite receiving the advance amount. Although the crew was informed about the promotional events beforehand, no one, including the senior actors, showed any kind of interest in the promotional events.

Later, it was revealed that the filmmaker had scammed the meat trader who was convinced that he would be given the lead role in the film and would be involved in the production.
