Kamal Haasan revealed that Nedumudi Venu was a committed actor.
Kamal Haasan is one of the most popular actors in the South film industry. After his recent film Kalki 2898 AD won hearts at the box office, the actor is all set to star in his highly anticipated film Indian 2. The film is the sequel to the 1996 superhit film, Indian. As the cast and crew have been travelling all over the country to promote Indian 2, Kamal Haasan shared his experience of working with one of his favourite Malayalam actors in the first part of India. The event was attended by Shankar, Bobby Simha, Siddharth, and Kamal Haasan on July 10 in Kochi. Kamal Haasan also shared more details about the project. Kamal Haasan has been travelling from cities to cities to promote his upcoming film, Indian 2. During one such promotion, the actor reminisced about working with the veteran Malayalam actor Nedumudi Venu.
Kamal Haasan revealed that he was a committed actor who continued to shoot even though he was in poor health. He said, “Nedumudi Venu is missed. I believe he is still present in this crowd.” He revealed that he still gets emotional when he sees the scenes with Nedumudi Venu. Even during the dubbing process, Kamal Haasan disclosed that he learned a great deal from Nedumudi Venu. He further added that Nedumudi Venu was his all-time favourite Malayalam actor. Kamal Haasan said that the Malayalam actor just played character roles in his career when he could have easily become a leading hero.
Sadly, Nedumudi Venu passed away in 2021. Initially, he suffered from liver cancer and later died due to complications from Covid-19.
Kamal Haasan also said that he has made a lot of friends from Kerala and often refers to himself as ‘partly made in Kerala’. The actor also paid gratitude to several Malayalee artists and technicians who were instrumental in the skillful production of Indian 2.
Indian 2 is directed by Shankar and is the sequel to the 1996 film. Kamal Haasan will reprise his role as Veerasekaran Senapathy in this film, which will shortly get a third instalment.
