Shatrughan Sinha Alleges ‘Smear Campaign’ Amid Luv’s Absence From Sonakshi’s Wedding: ‘I Won’t Tolerate…’

Following Luv Sinha’s revelation about his absence at his sister Sonakshi Sinha’s wedding with Zaheer Iqbal, Shatrughan Sinha, the veteran actor, responded to his son’s decision. During a recent interview, Shatrughan Sinha emphasized that he has encountered more substantial challenges in his lifetime. Moreover, he addressed the intense smear campaign that his family endured during that period.

In a recent interview with Times Now, Shatrughan Sinha reflected on the perceived family differences, stating, “Bahaut bade bade crises dekhe hain humne. Aur yeh toh kuch bhi nahin (We have seen many big crises. This is nothing)..” Addressing the attention surrounding the family wedding, he remarked, “There was absolutely nothing to worry about. We were like any ordinary family with a wedding happening. Just why we became a target of so much attention, you will know better than me.” Sinha emphasized, “We didn’t ask for it. This is not the first time that such a marriage (interfaith) was happening. Our family was subjected to the most vicious smear campaign.” Asserting his stance against critics, he firmly stated, “Let me make this clear. I won’t tolerate my family being attacked.”

Regarding his son’s absence from Sonakshi’s wedding, the actor emphasized the importance of keeping certain issues private within the family circle. He expressed, “Family matters should stay within the family. Like I said, kaun se parivar mein disagreements nahi hote? (Which family does not have disagreements?) We may disagree and argue on certain issues. But at the end of the day, we are one family. And no one can break us.”

Recently, Luv Sinha used social media to explain his decision for not attending the event. He expressed, “Why I chose not to attend. Running an online campaign against me on a false premise won’t change the fact that for me my family will always come first.” Sinha further clarified, “The reasons are very clear as to why I didn’t attend, and would not associate with some people no matter what. I’m glad a member of the media did their research instead of relying on creative stories being put out by a PR team.”

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal exchanged vows on June 23rd at Sonakshi’s Mumbai home. Following the private ceremony, they hosted a lavish wedding reception that saw the attendance of numerous Bollywood stars. Prior to their nuptials, Sonakshi and Zaheer had been in a committed relationship for more than seven years, solidifying their bond through time.
